Meet our participants – Rexhina Karaj

Welcome to our final post in the #meetourparticipants series for this year!

To wrap up this year’s series, we have the pleasure of introducing you to Rexhina from Albania, who attended our Munich summer school program in 2018.

Rexhina, Tell us a little about yourself!

Pershendetje! Hello everyone! I am Rexhina from Tirana, Albania.

I graduated in Bank Management in November 2018. I have always been someone who likes to do a bit of everything but I decided to go with economics back then but being more specific about it as in the banking industry field.

I really enjoy spending time with my friends during my free time but since I am currently working I struggle to have some of it. Also, I love reading books and sticking to a healthy lifestyle with the help of training at the gym or outdoors.

What are you passionate about?

I am very passionate about learning new things! I have developed a new passion for dedication to nature and medicinal plants. That’ why I’m looking forward to studying the plants and especially in a medical point of view.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Since I am already working in a bank somehow I have the future secured with a job in the bank and I am looking forward to growing my career and entering higher positions in the bank. I also will be starting my master studies and hoping to finish within the 5 years plan. But with the new passion growing in me about nature and medicinal plants I hope to be starting up and running a business surrounding this.

Have you read our blog post ‘How do I choose my career?’

What did you gain from ABC BootCamps?

I had a fantastic experience with ABC BootCamps in Munich. Even though I was under stress because a few days later I was giving my diploma thesis presentation which slightly prevented me from having 110 percent of the experience the ABC offers.

Additionally, I made new awesome friends from other countries who I am still in contact with. It made me challenge myself by working in teams and getting out of my comfort zone as someone who prefers to work alone. It also helped me gain new perspectives and skills.

What is the most interesting thing that you learned this summer at ABC?

Catch the moment! Working in teams allowed me to learn from people who were sharing different experiences, new ideas and perspectives which led me to improve my point of views on how I can master my skills and shape my personal development.

Any advice for this year’s participants?

Enjoy and take the best out of everything and everyone you meet during your time in the summer school. See everything you learn and everyone you meet as an opportunity for your personal and professional growth.
